What is the Challenge?
We have defined new cheese as that which is not currently stocked or planned to be stocked by any retailer with more than 20 outlets in the UK. We want to include existing cheeses that are not widely available, e.g. those sold currently at farmers markets, as well as developing brand new cheeses.
All entries will go forward to preliminary judging where up to 3 cheeses from each category will be selected to go through to the final.
A panel made up of independent judges from the cheese industry, the media and senior Tesco management will judge the cheese.
The Supreme Champion will win a National listing in Tesco Stores and will also receive marketing and technical support.
